Help: Expenses

 

This page allows you estimate your sales, expenses and profit. It will display your break even point based on the data you supply.

The first time you access this page, it preloads some sample data to allow you to easily see the app functionality. Change any line item by changing the data in that line and clicking the "E" link in the left column. Delete a line by clicking the "D" link in the left column.

The top section displays summary information including your break even point. This is the amount of sales your restaurant must take in to break even. Below that amount, you lose money. Above that amount, you make money.

The next section is a list of your expenses. You can select whether the expense is daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually.

To add an expense item, scroll to the bottom line of the expense list. Enter your new data in the last line and click "A" (Add). Items are displayed alphabetically by name.

At the bottom of the page, your income is displayed. List all sources of revenue. For the restaurant, the food cost is calculated as a percentage of your sales. The more you sell, the higher your food costs (you have to buy the food to sell).
